Event Goals

  • Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Describe and apply evidence-based psychosocial interventions for individuals with SCD, visual impairment, ADHD, and autism.
  • Use effective psychosocial interventions tailored to the needs of patients with various conditions.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and persuasion skills in healthcare settings, including motivational interviewing and shared decision-making.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate social support resources for patients and their families.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge of social dimensions of health to real-world case studies.
  • Design culturally sensitive and patient-centered care plans that address both medical and social needs.
  • Evaluate the ethical considerations involved in social interventions in healthcare.
