Event Goals

  • Preform a pre-sedation risk assessment
  • Identify the needed peri-procedural monitors.
  • Identify respiratory depression during procedural sedation and correcting it.
  • Explain of equipment for maintaining the airway and its appropriate use.
  • Explain of complications of sedation and how to recognize and manage them.
  • Define antidotes for sedatives and opiods and their usage.
  • Identify of appropriate selection of patients for moderate sedation and identifying the high risk patients.
  • Recognize administer sedation to both adult and pediatric patients as per policy and procedures for moderate sedation.
  • Define of anatomy and physiology of adult and pediatric airway.
