Event Goals

  • Describe the Principles of MRI Physics – Explain the fundamental physics behind MRI, including magnetic fields, radiofrequency pulses, and relaxation processes
  • 2. Identify MRI Components and Their Functions – List and describe the key components of an MRI system, such as magnets, gradient coils, and RF coils, with 80% accuracy in an assessment at the end of the module.
  • Explain MRI Safety Guidelines and Hazards – Recognize potential safety hazards in MRI environments, including projectile risks and RF burns, and demonstrate proper safety procedures during a hands-on safety workshop
  • pply MRI Image Acquisition and Optimization Techniques – Adjust imaging parameters to optimize signal-to-noise ratio, spatial resolution, and scan time, demonstrating competency through a practical session on MRI scanners or simulation software.
  • Demonstrate Proper Patient Positioning and Preparation – Position patients correctly for different MRI protocols and explain preparation procedures based on clinical indications, assessed through a structured practical evaluation.
  • Assess the Role of MRI in Clinical Diagnosis – Evaluate the advantages, limitations, and contraindications of MRI compared to other imaging modalities in a group discussion and written assessment.
