Event Goals

  • Identify key anatomical structures for ultrasound-guided venous access and midline catheter placement by the end of the course.
  • Demonstrate the ability to optimize ultrasound settings for venous visualization in a clinical setting by the end of the hands-on skills session.
  • Perform at least five successful ultrasound-guided peripheral line insertions and five midline catheter placements with appropriate technique and infection control measures during the final assessment.
  • Recognize potential complications associated with ultrasound-guided venous access and midline catheter placement, and apply strategies for troubleshooting these issues during practice sessions.
  • Implement infection prevention measures, including aseptic technique, hand hygiene, and sterilization, throughout all procedures during the course.
