Event Goals
- 1- By the end of this course, participants will Identify how the Global Strategy for Infant Feeding and BFHI improve infant feeding.
- 2- By the end of this course, participants will demonstrate effective communication skills for breastfeeding counseling.
- 3- By the end of this course, Participants will be able to identify and provide support for high-risk and HIV-positive women during pregnancy
- 4- By the end of this course, participants will describe the impact of marketing on infant feeding and ways to protect families.
- 5- By the end of this course, Participants will implement labor and birth practices that facilitate early initiation of breastfeeding, ensuring better outcomes for mother and child in their daily practice.
- 6- By the end of this course, participants will identify breast anatomy and explain how milk production and transfer occur.
- 7- By the end of this course, participants will demonstrate proper breastfeeding positioning, attachment, and assistance techniques.
- 8- By the end of this course, Participants will promote rooming-in and baby-led feeding practices in their facilities, ensuring infants receive breast milk on demand and reducing the use of unnecessary supplements.
- 9- By the end of this course, participants will identify milk supply concerns, discuss growth patterns, and ways to improve milk production.
- 10- By the end of this course, Participants will implement appropriate breastfeeding strategies to support infants with special needs.
- 11- By the end of this course, participants will demonstrate hand expression and feeding alternatives for babies unable to breastfeed.
- 12- By the end of this course, participants will identify common breast issues like engorgement and practice hand expression.
- 13- By the end of this course, participants will identify the nutritional needs of breastfeeding women and managing breastfeeding with illness.
- 14- By the end of this course, participants will implement strategies to support breastfeeding mothers post-discharge and employed women.
- 15- By the end of this session, participants will define BFHI practices and how to integrate them into hospital programs.
