Event Goals

  • Describe the indications, principles, and steps of the Tubularized Incised Plate (TIP) repair technique for distal hypospadias.
  • Explain the decision-making algorithm for evaluating and correcting penile curvature in hypospadias cases.
  • Compare different flap and graft techniques, including transverse preputial island flap and preputial grafts, and identify appropriate clinical scenarios for each.
  • Demonstrate fundamental microsurgical techniques (vessel and nerve handling, suturing under magnification) with high accuracy in a simulated lab setting.
  • Perform basic hypospadias repair procedures on animal models, showing improved confidence and technical skill as measured by instructor feedback and pre-/post-assessments.
